How to restore data from a backup
Easily recover your transaction history in Savvy Expense with this step-by-step guide to restoring data from a backup. Whether you’re setting up a new device or retrieving data after a reset, this article will help you seamlessly bring back your saved financial records, ensuring nothing is lost along the way.
Step 1: Access the Restore Feature
Navigate to the Settings tab, scroll down to the Data section, and tap on the Backup & Restore option. This will take you to the “Data Backup & Restore” screen, where your saved backups are listed.
Step 2: Select a Backup
Find the backup you wish to restore from the list. Tap on the backup to view its details.
On the details screen, you’ll see:
- Creation Date & Time: When the backup was created.
- App Version: The version of Savvy Expense used to create the backup.
- Data Inventory: A summary of the data stored in the backup.
Step 3: Restore from Backup
Once you’ve verified the backup details, tap the Restore from Backup button. A confirmation dialog will appear—select Confirm Restoration to proceed.
Step 4: Let the Process Complete
While the restoration is in progress, keep the app open to avoid interruptions. The duration of the process will depend on the size of your backup.
Step 5: Verify Your Data
After the restoration is complete, a success message will appear. Check your data to ensure everything has been restored correctly.
